Manufacturing Metal Fabrication Engineer needed for a leading Automotive Supplier of Engineered Products based in the Louisville KY- Jeffersonville IN area. Candidates that tend to be successful in this position are adaptable to a small company environment (Flat organizational structure); hands-on management style; be task and results oriented; able to work and communicate with people at all levels from shop floor to customers. This is a detailed position that requires someone that will roll up their sleeves and drive all aspects of the task until completion with good follow through and the ability to work with all levels. Must exercise considerable planning, judgment and ability to work independently.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following (others may be assigned):
  • Supports manufacturing by introducing production processes and revising manufacturing processes for cost savings.
  • Creates and maintains process instructions.
  • Develop and implement programs for CNC equipment.
  • Develop and implement quality inspection instructions.
  • Improves product workflow and efficiency.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

  • Knows arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.
  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Identifies the underlying principles, reasons, facts, or information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
  • Effectively communicates information and responds to questions in person-to-person and small group situations
  • Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with business information.
  • Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Writes routine reports and correspondence.
  • Utilizes common-sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions.
  • Deals with problems involving several known variables in situations of routine nature.
  • Plans the time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of own work; may also occasionally assist in planning work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
  • Uses complex and noncomplex machines and equipment.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • CNC Punch and / or Laser programming experience (required).
  • Sheet metal bending experience (required)
  • CAD/CAM experience (required).
  • Hands-on / Shop Floor experience (required).
  • Welding Experience (preferred / not required).
  • Assembly Experience (preferred / not required).
  • Robotics / Automation (preferred).
  • Industrial Finishing (preferred).

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering and 2 years’ experience.
  • Or, Associates Degree, technical school degree with equivalent job experience; minimum 5 years.
  • Knowledge of all manufacturing aspects of Whitesell
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Completion of a pre-employment drug test with negative results.
